How to survive Christmas…

6a00e55188b4c08833017d3f1de385970c-320wiYou’ve probably read a hundred posts about how you can minimise your weight gain etc, over Christmas. Well I’m going to go against all of that sage advice and tell you something a few of you probably won’t expect to hear.

Don’t worry about it, just enjoy it and get some much needed relaxation and family time in. Just don’t eat yourself into a food coma.

Two to three days out of the whole of the year aren’t going to impact on your efforts as much as you think and, hell, you’ve been damned good all year so why not enjoy it. Just don’t string it out until New Year.

If you really want to keep yourself close to track, then go for a long walk while the Turkey is cooking, or get a Christmas/Boxing day run in and don’t eat until you you feel you can explode, but do enjoy yourselves. What’s the point of being exceptional all year and then being miserable over the festive season? A few days off will actually do you some good. You have all of 2015 to continue working out and being en pointe with the diet side of things. Time to cut yourself a little slack and recuperate.

So there we have it, how to survive Christmas…don’t beat yourself up and think you have to be some superman/woman. Have some fun and enjoy the time with friends and family.

A Merry Christmas to you all for everyone at Kirby’s Personal Training and Fitness Port Talbot, enjoy the festive season and here’s to a happy and healthy 2015.
